EICA 2011

VX_Messenger bag

The new Mission Workshop AP Series is a glimpse into the underbelly of Mission Workshop R&D. This is the place where we cut, bend, smash, and burn anything that might reveal a path to a better product. This is where we don't try to be different, just better.
The first project to be debuted in the AP Series are the VX messenger bags which feature the Arkiv® closure system with matching gun-metal buckle hardware only found on the AP series bags. The bags themselves are made with a 1000d VX Cordura outer layer laminated to a PTFE membrane, resulting in an exceptionally durable and waterproof barrier to the elements. Like all of our messenger bags, they feature a weatherproof roll top main compartment which can be used in either the "roll top" mode, or in the traditional "flap down" configuration.

Is the 'TOUR' the best bicycle race in the World?

[…] There’s no other country in the world where the Tour could be so successful – France has the perfect landscape, variety of terrain and cuiture for a three-week bike race. It also laid claim to the perfect time on the calendar to hold a race – midsummer. The Giro has the culture and landscape, but not the midsummer slot, nor the same history. And while it’s fashionable for racing purists to prefer the Giro, supported by a stunning race in 2010, the Italian race is, and always has been, second best. If the Giro ever stands tall, it’s because it stands on the shoulders of the Tour. […] (Edward Pickering) To be continued here

Willy Harris @ Brothers Cycles

Custom paint and bike build for Brothers Cycles. Bike is painted in 'Razzle Dazzle'. Designed by Willy HarrisPharrell Williams for Domeau & Pérès

Music Producer and entrepreneur Pharrell Williams teams up once again with Domeau & Pérès to create this custom bicycle upholstered in fine leather. The bicycle's frame and fork are hand made in Brooklyn, NY by Brooklyn Machine Works. The bike is then shipped to Domeau & Pérès in Paris where it takes them over 100 man hours to upholster it in leather (water buffalo). All the stitching work is done by hand. The idea came together in 2009 after a visit to the Brooklyn Machine Works shop by Pharrell and Domeau & Pérès, who had previously worked together on Pharrell's first design project the "Perspective Chairs" with the Perrotin Gallery in Paris. The frame and forks are made out of 4130 chromemoly seamless airplane grade steel tubing. The frame size is 56.
Bikes are available in a variety of leather colors but each color is an edition of one and once purchased that color choice will no longer be available.
