Secondo la rivista inglese Monocle i cittadini di Sidney, Australia, non ne vogliono sapere di andare in bici. A fronte di un aumento del 21% della popolazione negli ultimi 20 anni le auto sono aumentate del 58%. L’amministrazione sta però varando un piano di 76 milioni di $ per incrementare le piste ciclabili (con colazione offerta ai ciclisti) con l’obiettivo di raggiungere, entro il 2016, un 10% in più di piloti urbani sulle due ruote.

Farfalle - Butterflies

Lance Armstrong, nella parte finale dell’edizione di quest’anno del Tour de France, ha guidato una bici disegnata personalmente da Damien Hirst e realizzata da Trek. Decorata con vere farfalle, la bici è stata suggerita a Hirst da Bono degli U2, e presenta il logo distintivo del grande ciclista americano in un tenue rosa, al posto del solito giallo acceso. Due grandi personalità del nostro tempo si riuniscono così, inaspettatamente.

Dopo aver provato una Cutter fissa siamo giunti alla conclusione che ci voleva qualcosa di più per il nostro stile (BMX) di guida, che sicuramente non è la norma per la vostra fissa quotidiana. Abbiamo preso la Cutter e fatto i soliti tricks, ma ancora non ci siamo sentiti a nostro agio per questo tipo di guida. Abbiamo fatto alcune modifiche. After riding the Cutter fixed gear bike we came to the conclusion that we wanted something a little more for our style (BMX) of riding which is definitely not the norm for your everyday fixed gear bike. We still jumped the Cutter and did the usual tricks but still wasn’t feeling too comfortable for that type of riding. We scrapped the bars and added the straight bars. Qualche giorno fa Virgilio ha pubblicato questo articolo: “Hardcourt Bike Polo, tutti pazzi per lo sport dei ciclisti urbani. Il Velodromo di Helsinki è un velodromo all'aperto e stadio di calcio sito a Helsinki, Finlandia.
