Cicli Casati su Rouleur # 29

Cicli Casati has been making bikes in Monza since 1920. Guy Andrews hankers after a land where steel frames, sunshine and midnight ice creams are a way of life. Herbie Sykes depicts an altogether grimmer reality of Italian amateur cycling.

The Frame Game

We go to a lot of bike shows in this business. Mostly they are a chance to meet and greet, schmooze and press the flesh. Rarely do we actually spend any length of time looking at the exhibits. And rarely do we see anything that gets the pulse racing.

Bdc intervista Doriano De Rosa

Peccato, speriamo migliori in futuro. Auguri!

Patrick Seabase viaggia in fissa per l'Eritrea

103 kilometers through unfamiliar territory, 60 kilometers of that steep downhill, it really takes it out of you. When I ride I never put my feet up, I control the speed by skidding, many times. My state of mind is so different when I’m on my track bike. I have to be clear and focused; it’s not like a regular road bike. You can’t just let the bike roll and enjoy the environment. Riding fixed, brakeless, for me means being 3 seconds ahead. Foreseeing and assessing the contingencies requires a hundred percent attention for that very moment and beyond. Physically I recovered very soon after but it took me at least an extra day to be mentally present again.

Foffa, non fuffa

Dani Foffa started his passion working on vintage bikes in 2007 from his tiny flat whilst keeping his day job in the city. In 2009 he quit his job and took a risk to follow his passion and teamed up with photographer tyson sadlo to create foffa bikes.  They then opened a shop in east london along with a few more passionate cyclist friends. Since then foffa bikes have introduced our fully customisable ‘prima’ bike, a range of affordable high quality parts, as well as  the concept bike ‘ciao’ and the stick-your-fix range of designer stickers.

Bike Polo by Peter Locke

Bike Polo Limited Edition Print by Peter Locke

Fabric Horse Lock Holster Large

These are made by Carrie and Mary in Philadelphia. These holsters were Carrie's own original idea. They were the first and are still the best. We like what they do and their attitudes. They conduct Fabric Horse business entirely by bicycle. They will never outsource labour overseas and their products will never be for sale in a mall. That's their promise. Respect.

bone-shaker # 8

Ever eaten a bear? Raced your bike through a strange Austrian's apartment? This issue tries both. With its outstanding cover by Illustrator Stevie Gee, with more than a little nod to Kraftwerk's 'Tour de France' artwork (albeit in Stevie's unique style), this issue hits hard from the get-go.
