Alta Bike è frutto di un progetto di collaborazione avvenuta nel 2004 fra i designer norvegesi di Bleed (graphic design), Norways Says (design di arredi) e Frost Produkt (industrial design). Inizialmente doveva essere un progetto con una produzione limitata a 50 bici ma ben presto Alta ha conosciuto una tale popolarità che è divenuta la prima produzione seriale di single speed sul mercato. L’idea iniziale, dietro ad Alta Bike, era di realizzare una bicicletta leggera, fuori dal tempo, resistente e veloce disegnata per uso cittadino, in contrasto con le mountain bike che a quel tempo venivano usate in città.Norwegian style
The Alta Bike was designed as a collaboration project between the Norwegian designers Bleed (Graphic Design), Norways ays (Furniture Design) and Frost Produkt (Industrial Design) in 2004. It was initially meant to be a project with a limited production of 50 bikes but Alta soon got so popular that it became the first serial production single speed bike on the market. The initial idea behind the Alta Bike was to make a light, timeless, fast and durable bicycle that was designed for the city use, in contrast to the mountain bikes mostly used in the cities at the time.
